By MondAfrique: The year 2024 will be a record year for elections around the world. More than 4 billion people are called to vote on all continents. Africa is no exception: twenty countries involving 346 million citizens are organizing elections this year, from the Maghreb to the Cape of Good Hope.
We present to you the prospects for these upcoming elections. For the most part, these elections have no democratic content and pervert the very image of democracy. And this for the benefit of other forms of political organizations. has taken power by the army in several countries (Mali, Niger, Guinea…etc), the strength of traditional tribal structures, the push of Islamic values favoring tradition over the law or finally the positive image of Vladimir Putin among many African heads of state testify to the disaffection with Western values.
The elections in Africa that will be emptied of their meaning in 2024 should favor a wave of populist and anti-Western background throughout the African continent.
