Ukraine has a good reason to sabotage Russia’s operations around the world. They are at war. And so it is no surprise that they both undermine each other wherever they are around the world. While the Ukrainians have been battling a Russian onslaught on their own territory, their military intelligence agency, known as the GUR, has been looking to hit Russian interests and operations abroad. Stability and threat assessment firm MEA Risk LLC noted that the GUR may have been involved in Sudan last year, essentially striking the positions of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), an anti-government militia allegedly supported by Russia’s Wagner. This time, though, we are seeing this confrontation taking place in the Sahel.
