Tunisia: Stranded Oil Platform off Bizerte: Investigations and Removal Plans Underway

A stranded oil platform off the coast of Bizerte, Tunisia, has prompted investigations and rescue operations involving accredited experts and divers. The platform, weighing 25,000 tons, was en route to Turkey for dismantling when complications arose. Tunisian authorities, in collaboration with the maritime agent and equipment supplier, are working to assess the situation and plan its removal, ensuring compliance with state rights. A Liberian-flagged tugboat with a crew of 19, primarily Indian nationals, remains anchored nearby as part of the ongoing efforts.
