The North Africa Journal | 10 June 2019: The United Arab Emirates has launched an offensive aimed at controlling Muslim houses of worship (mosques) in France. The UAE’s ultimate target is to wage its anti-Muslim Brotherhood (MB) war in Europe. Its hatred of the MB has already wrecked havoc in many countries, from sponsoring the return of dictatorship in Egypt to completely destroying Libya and paying for collapse of the pro-democracy movement in Sudan. In Europe, and France in particular, the UAE’s encroachment has stirred a staunch counter-offensive from Morocco, the country that has had traditional oversight on mosques across France. Although the UAE is still working hard to take over the French mosques, by buying the loyalty of Muslim leaders in France, the Moroccans managed to thwart and repel the first offensive. Still, UAE is spending enormous resources and will continue to pose a major threat to the Muslim communities in France, largely composed of North Africans.
