Algerian state airline carrier Air Algérie is expanding its domestic flight network, following its previous international service increases, with the addition of 84 weekly flights across Algeria’s national routes. The company says this expansion, effective October 26, is intended to meet growing demand and improve coverage for air travel throughout the country.
According to a statement released Tuesday, Air Algérie will provide an extra 11,500 seats per week on these domestic routes. The company says these increases are designed to support national efforts to improve air transport and contribute to economic, social, and tourism growth.
Separately, Air Algérie’s newly established subsidiary, Domestic Airlines, which began operations in late August, will introduce 19 new weekly flights, adding 3,664 seats. Combined, Air Algérie and Domestic Airlines will offer 103 new weekly domestic flights, representing 15,164 additional seats.
The enhanced domestic schedule, Air Algérie states, aims to strengthen service across airports nationwide and accommodate the surge in air travel, which has been driven by limited rail and road alternatives and the advantages air travel offers over land transport.
Air Algérie says the expansion is part of a broader strategy to modernize its fleet and adopt innovative travel solutions. The carrier intends to continue improving service quality in air transport with the goal of remaining a prominent player in the sector.
